Six more players to join Pakistan squad in England after second negative COVID-19 test

Six more players to join Pakistan squad in England after second negative COVID-19 test.

All rounder  Mohammad Hafeez, Leg spinner Shadab Khan and left-arm fast bowler Wahab Riaz, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Hasnain, all who had earlier tested positive for COVID-19 have now tested negative.

All players were tested for the second time on Monday, June 29 after three days of their first test on June 26.

Following their second negative test these six players are now eligible to join the Pakistan men’s national cricket team in Worcestershire.

Pakistan Cricket Board will now arrange for travel facilities of these six players to UK.

Wahab Riaz and  Mohammad Hafeez had tested themselves at a private laboratory, early last week and returned a negative  test but PCB didn’t accept the results because they were conducted outside the test protocols.

Haris Rauf, Imran Ali and others will be tested again

The remaining four players Kashif Bhatti, Haris Rauf, Haider Ali and Imran khan will have to return to negative tests to be eligible to fly to UK.

The tour group also comprises 11 support-staff members.

While head coach Misbah-ul-Haq flew with the squad from Lahore, bowling coach Waqar Younis and physiotherapist Cliff Deacon arrived in England from Australia and South Africa respectively.

Presently, the 18 players who returned two negatives as well as two reserve players -Musa Khan and wicketkeeper Rohail Nazir – are part of the group of 20 that flew to Manchester on a chartered plane organised by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on June 28.

Meanwhile, Team masseur Malang Ali and Mohammad Imran will remain in Pakistan for the completation of another round of  test because Malang ali tested positive twice while his back-up Mohammad Imran has tested positive once. 

The group that reached England late last week also tested on monday and waiting for the results.

Pakistan squad already in UK

Abid Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Shan Masood, Azhar Ali (Test captain), Babar Azam (Test vice-captain and T201 captain), Asad Shafiq, Fawad Alam, Iftikhar Ahmad, Khushdil Shah, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Abbas, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Sohail Khan, Usman Shinwari, Imad Wasim, Yasir Shah, Musa Khan, Rohail Nazir are the players who are already in uk from the first batch of squad. They all have already started isolation period in worecestar.
