Barcelona vs Osasuna
Time – India: 6:30 PM (Sunday); UK: 1:00 PM (Sunday)
Venue: Camp Nou
Referee: Antonio Mateu

26-time La Liga champions, FC Barcelona, will look to return to winning ways when they welcome a struggling Osasuna to town on Sunday. Ronald Koeman’s side were bested by Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, last weekend, which left them with 11 points after eight La Liga matches.

Osasuna, who sit just a place below Barcelona, are coming into the match on the back of a 1-1 stalemate against Huesca.

They have played a game more than the Blaugrana, but the two are currently tied on points at the moment.

A routine win for Barcelona or a massive upset on the cards? This weekend promises plenty.

Barcelona vs Osasuna: Head-to-head

Total matches: 36

Barcelona wins: 21

Osasuna wins: 6

Draws: 9

Barcelona, quite clearly have the advantage over Osasuna in head-to-head. The Blaugrana’s free-flowing football has always been overwhelming for the Pamplona outfit, but the record of nine draws must be a little uncomfortable for the Catalonians.

In their last meeting, however, Osasuna managed a 2-1 win at Camp Nou, which gave Real Madrid a healthy boost in the 2019/20 campaign.

Barcelona’s last win against Osasuna came in April 2017 — a 7-1 thumping at Camp Nou.

Barcelona vs Osasuna: Recent form

Barcelona: W-L-W-W-D (Most recent first)

Osasuna: D-L-L-W-D (Most recent first)

Despite having some of the most revered names in the business, Barcelona have failed to stamp their authority in the league this season.

They have already suffered 3 defeats in La Liga, marking one of their worst starts to the Spanish top-flight. Their last La Liga outing resulted in a 1-0 defeat at Atletico Madrid.

Osasuna, too, haven’t been impressive, by any means. Having played a game more than Barcelona, they sit at 14th place with 11 points. Their last game ended in a 1-1 draw against Huesca.

Barcelona vs Osasuna: Team news

Barcelona

Barcelona have welcomed Philippe Coutinho to the pitch, but they are set to miss defensive duo, Sergi Roberto and Gerard Pique on Sunday.

Centre-back Samuel Umiti has returned to training, but he is still a doubt for the match.

Sergio Busquets had to sit out the Champions League fixture at Dynamo Kyiv but might sit on the bench this weekend. Ansu Fati will remain sidelined.

Absentees: Ansu Fati, Gerard Pique, Ronald Araujo, Sergi Roberto

Doubtful: Samuel Umtiti, Sergio Busquets.

Osasuna

The visitors, Osasuna, have a long list of injuries and doubts. Forward Adrian Lopez has muscle cramps but should, at least, be on the bench.

Aridane Hernandez has a sprained knee and might remain sidelined till December. David Garcia, Lucas Torro, and Jonathan Calleri are doubtful for the match.

Ezequiel Avila has a cruciate ligament injury and will remain sidelined till early March 2021.

Absentees: Ezequiel Avila, Aridane Hernandez

Doubtful: David Garcia, Lucas Torro, Jonathan Calleri

Barcelona vs Osasuna: Probable XI

Barcelona: Ter Stegen; Dest, Umtiti, Lenglet, Alba; Pjanic, De Jong; Dembele, Messi, Pedri; Griezmann

Osasuna: Herrera; Roncaglia, Garcia, Garcia, Cruz; Torres, Oier, Perez, Jony; Budimir, Garcia

Barcelona vs Osasuna: Prediction

Barcelona are desperate to return to winning ways on Sunday, and we’re not sure Osasuna have enough to stop them in their tracks.

Yes, they have some quality on the flanks, but Barcelona should get three points on the board quite comfortably, this weekend.

Don’t be surprised if Lionel Messi puts on a stellar show for the Cules at home.

Barcelona vs Osasuna predicted scoreline: 3-0
