Venue: The Amex Stadium

Referee: Stuart Attwell

Liverpool’s injury issues are yet to derail their season and they surprised many when they beat Leicester City 3-0 at Anfield last weekend despite their growing list of injury problems.

Jurgen Klopp rotated his squad in midweek Champions League action and they lost to Atalanta at home. But he big hitters are expected to be back in the team when they travel to the Amex Stadium today.

Brighton did beat an in-form Aston Villa away from home last time around and will be hoping to profit from a Liverpool side who are still missing big players in their defence.

But they would have taken note of the way the champions brushed aside Leicester’s challenge last weekend and would be wary of thinking that they could get at Klopp’s side today.

Brighton vs Liverpool: Head-to-Head

Total games – 31

Brighton wins – 4

Liverpool wins – 19

Liverpool have a vastly superior record over Brighton since the first time the two sides met in FA Cup action in 1908.

Since Brighton’s return to the top tier in 2017, they have lost all their six games against the Merseyside giants.

Brighton have not beaten Liverpool since 1984 and their last league win over the Reds came in 1982.

Brighton are coming into the game on the back of an impressive away win at Aston Villa but that was their only victory in the last five Premier League games.

However, they have on lost one of their last five as well and have continued to pick up valuable points on the way.

Liverpool brushed aside Leicester City at Anfield last weekend, which was a message to the rest of the Premier League.

But they did lose a Champions League game at home to Atalanta on Wednesday night.

However, the Reds have also not lost a league game since their 7-2 defeat at Aston Villa.

Brighton vs Liverpool: Prediction

Liverpool’s record against Brighton suggests that this should be a cakewalk for the Premier League champions.

But nothing has been straightforward in this season’s Premier League and the Reds’ defensive injury concerns will take its toll at some point.

However, they still have the attacking resources to beat most teams in the league and we are expecting Liverpool to get three more points on the south coast.

Brighton vs Liverpool predicted scoreline: 1-3
