Bundesliga 2019-20: Fixtures and Predictions | Gameweek 32

Another week, another exciting round of fixtures to look forward to in the Bundesliga.

Gameweek 32 holds special significance for Bayern Munich, who need just one more win to be crowned the champions of Germany for an unprecedented eighth time in a row.

The Bavarians will travel to relegation-threatened Werder Bremen this week, after having defeated Borussia Monchengladbach last Saturday.

Marco Rose’s Monchengladbach will kick off gameweek 32 when they host Wolfsburg on Tuesday night.

That and many more tricky games await us in midweek, so without further ado, let’s preview the action that awaits us in the latest round of matches of the Bundesliga.

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Wolfsburg (Prediction: 1-1)

Wolfsburg, who are sixth on the standings, will visit Borussia Park this week to take on Borussia Monchengladbach, who are fifth in the table.

However, there’s a 10-point gap between the two sides.

The visitors are embroiled in a dogged race with Hoffenheim to qualify for the Europa League, so this fixture is of paramount importance to them.

Elsewhere, the hosts have got some ground to make up after their defeat to Bayern Munich saw Bayer Leverkusen leapfrog them into the fourth place. To sum it up, this should be a must-watch.

Union Berlin vs Paderborn (Prediction: 2-0)

After last week’s 5-1 loss at the hands of Werder Bremen, Paderborn will look for a positive result when they play Union Berlin on Tuesday night.

Unlike the visitors, Berlin have all to play for. They are 14th on the table and need to bag a couple of wins to guarantee their stay in the Bundesliga.

Werder Bremen vs Bayern Munich (Prediction: 0-3)

17th-placed Werder Bremen will look to gatecrash Bayern Munich’s title bash when they welcome the league leaders to Weserstadion on Tuesday night. Although the home side thrashed Paderborn by a 5-1 scoreline recently, Hansi Flick’s men are the favourites for this one.

Having won all of their previous 13 matches across all competitions, the Bavarians are widely expected to pick up all three points against Bremen and retain the Bundesliga title yet again.

SC Freiburg vs Hertha Berlin (Prediction: 2-2)

In order to keep their European dreams alive, Freiburg, who have been overperforming so far in the Bundesliga, will have to overcome Hertha Berlin in gameweek 32.

The hosts are eighth on the table, four points ahead of their Tuesday’s opponents. Meanwhile, the Olympiastadion outfit have suffered two back-to-back defeats recently, which means winning against Freiburg is must for Hertha Berlin.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Schalke (Prediction: 2-0)

Frankfurt will be outright favourites when they welcome a struggling Schalke side to the Commerzbank Arena on Wednesday.

The hosts have been in good form lately, having won all four of their recent Bundesliga games, and as a consequence, they’ve risen to 10th in the standings.

On the other hand, the Royal Blues are winless since the league’s restart, having collected just two points from a possible 18, which completely sums up their miseries this season.

FC Augsburg vs Hoffenheim (Prediction: 1-1)

13th-placed Augsburg will host seventh-placed Hoffenheim this week at the WWK Arena, and the hosts are in dire need of points. They are seven points above relegation places and need to start picking up points to steer clear of danger.

The wind has been knocked out of Hoffenheim’s sails, and their inconsistent performances of late could be the difference when it comes to qualifying for Europe. The visitors need to win all of their remaining games to keep their European dream alive.

Borussia Dortmund vs Mainz (Prediction: 2-0)

Lucien Favre’s men somehow found a way past Dusseldorf last week, and the match against Mainz couldn’t have come at a better time. The visitors are just three points above relegation berths, and need to win all of their remaining matches to survive a late scare.

For Borussia Dortmund, there is little room for error too, and as they’ve been in good form lately, it should be another routine win for BVB at the Westfalenstadion.

Bayer Leverkusen vs FC Köln (Prediction: 3-0)

Peter Bosz’s men will be boosted by the return of Kai Havertz, and after last week’s 1-1 draw against Schalke, Leverkusen will be gunning for all three points when they welcome FC Köln to the Bay Arena on Wednesday.

The visitors are winless in their previous seven Bundesliga games, a run stretching all the way back to 7th March. On paper, it should be a straightforward win for the home side.

RB Leipzig vs Dusseldorf (Prediction: 2-1)

16th-placed Dusseldorf will travel to the Red Bull Arena in gameweek 32, hoping for better fortunes this week. The visitors would be kicking themselves for dropping points against Dortmund, and they face another stern test in the form of RB Leipzig on Wednesday.

Julian Nagelsmann’s young side look well poised for qualifying to the Champions League. RB Leipzig are third on the table and will be favourites heading into the midweek game.
