Covid-19: Smriti Mandhana resumes training

India’s star women opener Smriti Mandhana finally got to hit a few balls after the Maharashtra government eased the lockdown norms in orange and green zones following the union government’s order.

Smriti  is keeping herself busy these days by hosting a Youtube Show ‘Double Trouble’ with her teammate Jemimah Rodrigues since the coronavirus enforced lockdown has put the game halted.

Expresses her joy

Smriti Mandhana posted a short video clip of her training session on her Instagram page and expressed her joy. In the video she was seen hitting balls in nets at her local ground.

She becomes the first India Women cricketer to go out for the training after the 60 days suspension of the cricket activities.

As the prolonged lockdown suspended every other sports activities with cricket not an exception, Smriti Mandhana with her teammate found a way to keep herself engaged and entertained.

She with Jemimah Rodrigues started to host a Youtube Show named “Double Trouble”. In the show, both the players invite other Indian players from various sports and discuss about the game and life.

Will have to break the final riddle

In one of the shows, when India’s opener from men’s team featured, both the players admitted that they will have to break the riddle of get through the knockout stages of ICC tournaments.

Notably, in recent years India’s women team has found the finals as obstacle in quest of the trophy while the men’s team have been losing it at the semi-final stage.
