Thus, you should be more aware of these records to choose your players accordingly and take the right decisions at the right time.

As IPL steps into its 15th year, we look back at some iconic moments.

1. Chris Gayle’s highest individual score: Chris Gayle, the excellent batsman of all time, scored amazingly in a game in 2013. The game was played in M Chinnaswamy stadium. He smashed the fastest century of 30 balls, which led to 175 unbeaten runs. This is one record that cricket fans look back at whenever we talk about the best records in IPL.

2. Chris Gayle’s most sixes in IPL: Again, we will talk about this player and his records, which is unlikely to be broken in the coming matches. He scored a stunning 357 sixes in 141 IPL innings. Following him is Rohit Sharma, with 227 sixes in 208 innings. These are some of the records that are noteworthy by Chris Gayle.

3. Virat Kohli and his incredible performance: Virat Kohli also scored the most runs in a single season -973 runs in 2016. Yes, you read that right. The RCB skipper was at the peak of his powers back then, and he slammed 4 centuries and 7 fifties that season in 2016 while getting 973 runs. He missed the 1000 run mark by a small margin. Looking back at IPL, the second best one was in 2016, by David Warner scoring 848 runs.

However, he lagged behind Kohli’s record.

4. MS Dhoni: MS Dhoni also has set a record by being the captain in the most number of IPL finals. He has been the face of Chennai super kings since the inception of IPL. Csk has made it to the finals in most seasons led by MS Dhoni. The consistency of Dhoni in captaincy has always been commendable. This is yet another IPL record that might not be broken sometime soon.

5. KKR’s longest winning streak: Kolkata Knight Riders, led by Shahrukh Khan, have always been a dominating team in IPL. It has 2 IPL titles in its bag and a Champions League final appearance. In the 2014-2015 series, KKR won 10 games, a record that might not be broken sometime soon. It is the longest winning streak in the IPL.
