Two Indian players Manpreet Gony and Manvinder Bisla will feature in the Lanka Premier League slated to take place next month. The two players were picked up by the Colombo Kings.

Gony had played a couple of ODIs for India against Hong Kong and Bangladesh respectively. Gony has been a part of 44 IPL games while Bisla played an important role in KKR’s 2012 winning triumph in the IPL. The right-handed batsman has played 35 IPL matches, scoring 798 runs.

West Indies batsman Chris Gayle is one of the big names who has been picked by Kandy Tuskers. The local icon that has been picked up by the Tuskers is Kusal Jenith while the second foreign icon is Liam Plunkett.

Kings on the other hand have got some big international names like Angelo Mathews, Faf du Plessis and Andre Russell. While Mathews is known for his all-round abilities, Faf is someone who can play the anchor’s role in the top-order. Russell’s power-hitting ability is known to everyone while he is pretty handy in the bowling unit as well as in the field.

Some other iconic players include Lasith Malinga, Shahid Afridi, Colin Ingram, David Miller and Carlos Brathwaite.

Malinga, Afridi and Ingram have been signed by Galle Gladiators while Miller and Brathwaite will be a part of the Dambulla Hawks setup.

The T20 tournament will be played from November 21 to December 13 at two venues. The first venue is Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy and the second is Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota. There would be a total of 23 matches that would played in a period of 15 days.
