It is one of the most exciting tracks on the F1 calendar. A quick, thrilling, very ‘edge of the seat’ racing venue, it is checkered with high-speed, rip-roaring, spine-bending turns. It’s offered plenty of exhilaration in the past. And it is expected to offer a lot of thrills in the times to come. The news is out and as expected, has been met with plenty of unending cheer. Monza’s future is safe and secure on F1’s watch.

Formula 1 will run Monza for 5 more years until 2024

The celebrated home of the Italian Grand Prix, a track that happens to be among the fastest on the calendar is expected to dish out 5 more Grands Prix in the course of the future before the terms pertaining to another renewal come up.
A track steeped in tradition, the homeland of the widely-admired Tifosi, Monza has long produced champions on the grid and upheld the victory of some of the very best names in the tectonic world of F1. Truth be told, there are few tracks that are as celebrated as the icons of speed.
Monza happens to be a rare one.
Greats like Senna, Lauda, Schumacher, Hakkinen, Vettel, Alonso, Hamilton have all battled and eloped with grand victories in the past here in Ferrari-land. And two of the contemporary era’s racing titans- Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel- will once again be seen locking horns in the course of the future, not merely in the imminent 2019 Italian Grand Prix.

As Monza’s future has been sealed with a prominent 5-year deal, the nervousness regarding the fate of a grandiose racing venue has finally paved the way to unbridled excitement.
The Italian racing venue, it ought to be reminded, has been on the F1 calendar since 1951.
It’s more than just a race track, it is a battleground. It’s more than a battleground. It’s a field of dreams for the achievers who put their lives on the line braving danger as they tussle with the speed in an all-out wheel-to-wheel war with others in a carnival of Grand Prix racing.

How else would you describe the incredible thrill of racing at Monza?

Truth be told, there’s hardly been any dearth of epic moments that have raised the bar at Ferrari’s home race. Greats like Fernando Alonso clinched a maiden win with the “Prancing Horse” here way back in 2010. Only last year did Formula 1 witness perhaps one of the most exhilarating contests in the Italian heartland in the post-Schumacher era.
As Raikkonen and Hamilton battled in a remarkable 70-lap run, two racing powerhouses unfurled spectacular thrill amid a nerve-wracking saga as the Mercedes ultimately toppled the fighting Ferrari of the Iceman.
And only a few hours earlier had one seen perhaps one of the most remarkable laps ever registered by a Formula 1 driver. As Kimi Raikkonen aced the qualifying on the all-important Saturday, he would drive around the “Cathedral of Speed,” notching up a blistering 1:19:119, the fastest-ever lap recorded in the history of Grand Prix racing.
The pole was the eventual earning but a place among the all-time greats having contributed to F1’s checkered record book was Kimi’s way of exuding cool.
Who knows what is to happen in the next race, the drama set to unfold before everyone’s prying eyes on Sunday. No matter who the winner, Monza is here to stay!
