This is the second instance when Naomi Osaka has got the better off Serena. The first time the world witnessed Osaka outing Serena Williams was at the infamous 2018 US Open Final. Osaka deprived Serena of 24th Grand slam. Since then Osaka, who is Asia’s finest tennis players, has been in the news.

Although Naomi Osaka’s form dipped In the latter part of 2019, she still managed to end the year as the highest-paid women athlete. She started off 2019 by winning the Australian Open, where she won herself $4,100,000.

The tournament had increased the amount by giving a new high of $62.5 million in prize money 14 per cent more than what they gave in 2018. The latter of the year was rather decent for Osaka but with her impressive form at the Australian Open, she clearly was in the limelight by winning two consecutive slams.

Naomi Osaka breaks American and Russian monopoly

Since 2004 there has only been a tennis player at the top of the Forbes charts, either the American GOAT or the Russian Sharapova, however this year Asian Naomi Osaka is the new chart-topper. This is another outstanding feat for a 22-year-old Osaka who has been impressing with her tennis.

Osaka is a part of the steady IMG organization and has to herself the sponsorship deals of 15 top shot companies such as Yonex,  Nike, Nissan Motors and Shiseido.
