The franchise has now announced Karnataka leg-spinner, Pravin Dubey, as the replacement for Amit Mishra. An official statement released by the franchise said, “JSW and GMR co-owned franchise Delhi Capitals today announced the signing of 27-year-old leg spinner Pravin Dubey as a replacement for Amit Mishra, for the rest of the Dream11 Indian Premier League. The Karnataka-based Dubey has played 14 domestic T20 matches for his state, and has 16 wickets to his name, with an economy rate of 6.87.”

Dubey expressed his delight while talking to TOI and said that he is seeing this as an opportunity to showcase his talent on a biger stage.

“I’m happy because it gives me an opportunity to showcase my talent,” he said.

The leggie was picked up by RCB in the 2016 edition for Rs 35 lakh and spent two years with the franchise before he was released. Dubey had gone unsold since then in the IPL auctions. Dubey is already in UAE and has been plying his trade in RCB as a net bowler.

He has played 14 T20s and has scalped a total of 16 wickets at an impressive average of 19.12 and a healthy economy of 6.87.

The Delhi Capitals are so far sitting at the helm of the points table with 14 points and seven wins to their name from 9 matches. DC will lock horns with Kings XI Punjab on Tuesday in Dubai.
