Aston Villa 3 – 4 Southampton

Manchester United 0 – 1 Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur 2 – 1 Brighton and Hove Albion

Fulham 2 – 0 West Bromwich

Leeds United 1 – 4 Leicester City

So, without further ado, let’s take a look at our Premier League team of the week for gameweek 07.

Goalkeeper: Aaron Ramsdale (Sheffield Wednesday)

Aaron Ramsdale had a stellar game against Manchester City even though his team lost 1-0. The custodian made the highest number of saves (7) and the highest number of recoveries in the game (17). If not for Ramsdale, Sheffield United would have definitely lost by a bigger margin.

Right-Back: Ola Aina (Fulham)

Ola Aina’s stupendous performance helped Fulham to their first Premier League win of the season as the Cottagers moved out of the relegation zone. The Torino loanee scored his first goal in Fulham colours and helped keep a clean sheet as the London club comfortably beat West Brom 2-0.

Centre-back: Kurt Zouma (Chelsea)

Kurt Zouma is becoming a vital cog in the Chelsea team under Frank Lampard and the French international had a fantastic outing against Burnley as the Blues won 3-0.

The former Saint-Etienne man scored his third league goal of the season and helped keep a clean sheet as Chelsea moved up to the seventh place in the Premier League table.

Centre-back: Jannik Vestergaard (Southampton)

Jannik Vestergaard is a giant presence at the back for Southampton and the Denmark international made his mark at both ends of the field to hand Saints a thrilling 4-3 win over Aston Villa.

The former Borussia Monchengladbach man scored a goal and made the highest number of blocks (1) in the game as Southampton stretched their unbeaten run in the Premier League to five games.

Left-back: Rayan Ait-Nouri (Wolverhampton Wanderers)

Rayan Ait-Nouri, who made his first Premier League start for Wolves against Crystal Place, was outstanding throughout the game. The Angers loanee looked solid on the ball and celebrated his first start in the league with a goal and a clean sheet as Wolves beat the Eagles 2-0.

Central Midfielder: Youri Tielemans (Leicester City)

Youri Tielemans has turned out to be one of the best buys for Leicester City in recent years. The former Monaco star is one of the major reasons behind the Foxes being so consistent for the best part of two seasons.

The Belgian international, who decimated a high-flying Leeds United team as he scored two goals in a 4-1 victory, dominated the middle of the park for the entire 90 minutes.

Central midfielder: James Ward-Prowse (Southampton)

James Ward-Prowse simply destroyed Aston Villa in the first half as the England international dominated from the very first whistle. The midfielder had a brilliant game as Southampton won 4-3 against Aston Villa.

The Saints academy graduate scored from two free-kicks, provided an assist, managed the third-highest number of passes (33) and the second-highest number of tackles (2) in the game.

Right-winger: Pedro Neto (Wolverhampton Wanderers)

Pedro Neto is fulfilling his potential as a starter for Wolves this season after mostly playing second fiddle to Diogo Jota in 2019-20.

The former Lazio man was on to his game against a very defensive Crystal Palace team as he provided an assist, managed the highest number of tackles (3), the second-highest number of blocks (1) and created the highest number of chances in the game (4) as Wolves comfortably won the game by a 2-0 margin.

Left-winger: Hakim Ziyech (Chelsea)

After his initial injury struggles, Hakim Ziyech is finally showcasing his talent in the Premier League.

The Morocco international was in splendid form in Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Burnley as he scored his first league goal and provided an assist in a brilliant 73-minute display.

Striker: Jamie Vardy (Leicester City)

Jamie Vardy, one of the best strikers in the Premier League for the past few seasons, was nothing but sensational against a strong Leeds United team.

The Leicester City hitman was in no mood to let go of his scoring touch as he netted his seventh Premier League goal of the campaign and provided a brace of assists in the 4-1 hammering of Marcelo Bielsa’s men.

Striker: Callum Wilson (Newcastle United)

Callum Wilson was one of the most underrated strikers in the Premier League during his time at Bournemouth, who got relegated last season.

The England international has been a top signing for Newcastle United in the early weeks of the campaign as he scored two goals to help the Magpies beat a high-flying Everton side in 2-1. He has so far scored six goals in the Premier League this season.
