Real Madrid vs Huesca
Time – India: 6:30 PM (Saturday); UK: 2:00 PM (Saturday)
Venue: Estadio Di Stefano

Last weekend, Zinedine Zidane’s men produced a spectacular second half at the Camp Nou to leave Barcelona in the dust. Starting from the accurate Fede Valverde strike to the Luka Modric stunner right in the end — Real Madrid were, by far, the better team.

The win allowed them to creep up to second place in the division — trailing league leaders Real Sociedad by a solitary point with a game in hand.

Newly-promoted Huesca, on the other hand, haven’t had any such luck. They were hammered comprehensively by Real Sociedad, last weekend, and would be looking for some sort of inspiration in Madrid.

Cadiz’s first-ever win at Real Madrid is bound to give them some hope. And hope is pretty much all they have against the most decorated team in the world.

Real Madrid vs Huesca: Head-to-head

Total matches: 2

Real Madrid wins: 2

Huesca wins: 0

Draws: 0

Real Madrid and Huesca haven’t had the chance to cross paths in the Spanish top-flight many times, with the two chalking up only two La Liga clashes in recent history.

As you may have guessed — and seen — already, Real Madrid produced the goods in both matches and walked away with victories in the 2018/19 La Liga campaign.

Huesca is yet to pick up a single win over Los Blancos in the first division, but the odds probably won’t keep them from trying their luck. They know they have the quality to frustrate the defending champions and that’s exactly what they’d look to do this weekend.

Real Madrid vs Huesca: Recent form

Real Madrid: D-W-L-L-W (Most recent first)

Huesca: L-D-D-D-D (Most recent first)

Real Madrid picked up a super impressive win at the Camp Nou, last Saturday, but they immediately followed the act with a sub-par 2-2 draw in the Champions League, against Monchengladbach.

Huesca, on the other hand, have racked up four draws in their last five fixtures and are still searching for their first triumph in the division.

Real Madrid vs Huesca: Team news

Real Madrid

Eden Hazard came off the bench in the 2-2 draw at Borussia Monchengladbach. He looked sharp, hungry, and brought the left-wing to life. We expect him to have a more telling role against Huesca on Saturday.

First choice right-back, Dani Carvajal and midfielder Martin Odegaard are still recovering and will take no part. Nacho and Alvaro Odriozola, who are still not training with the squad, are doubtful for the weekend’s fixture.

Absentees: Martin Odegaard, Dani Carvajal

Doubtful:  Alvaro Odriozola, Mariano Diaz, Nacho

Huesca

The visitors, too, have a bunch of injuries to deal with ahead of Saturday’s clash. Antonio Valera, Joaquin Munoz, and Pedro Lopez are ruled out, while Mikel Rico and Shinji Okazaki are doubtful for the game.

Real Madrid vs Huesca: Prediction

Over the last four games, we’ve seen the best and worst of Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid. Against Cadiz and Shakthar Donetsk, they were toothless and largely out of ideas.

At the Camp Nou, they turned on their charm and cruised to a 3-1 win. Then, against all odds, drew 2-2 at Monchengladbach, with both of their goals coming in the final five minutes of the game.

Huesca, on the other hand, have been unremarkable in every conceivable way. They are yet to win a single game in La Liga this season, but have managed to hold some lofty opponents to frustrating draws.

Real Madrid haven’t been great at breaking down gritty opponents this season, which could make Huesca’s trip a little more interesting. We expect the hosts to book a narrow win over the newly-promoted side.

Real Madrid vs Huesca predicted scoreline: 1-0
