Rajasthan Royals (RR) fielding coach Dishant Yagnik has tested COVID-19 positive in the tests undertaken by the franchise confirmed an official release from the franchise on Wednesday, August 12.
All the RR players, support staff and management travelling to the UAE had undergone through a COVID-19 test before their scheduled arrival in Mumbai next week for their flight to the UAE. The test is in addition to two tests mandated by the Broad for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI).
“The franchise implemented an extra test for all players, support staff and management travelling to the UAE in addition to the two tests recommended by BCCI, to ensure as robust a process as possible,” the RR statement said.
Dishant Yagnik, who is currently in his hometown Udaipur, has been advised to get admitted to hospital for a 14-day quarantine. Yagnik will have to return two negative tests post the 14-day quarantine period, followed by 6 days of self-isolation and three negative tests upon his arrival in the UAE to re-join his team.
The franchise further requested everyone who has been in closed proximity to Dishant in the past 10 days to self-isolated and get tested for COVID-19.

“We can confirm that no Rajasthan Royals or other IPL players have been in close proximity to Dishant in the past 10 days. We wish Dishant a speedy recovery and look forward to him joining the Royals camp soon in the UAE,” Royals said in the statement.
Dishant Yagnik, a former Rajasthan wicket-keeper, had played a total of 23 matches for the RR in the IPL from 2011 to 2014 and in the Champions League T20 in 2013.
