After so long, football fans will finally get to experience a weekend full of Premier League, La Liga and Serie A action.

In order to finish the current season in a given timeframe, matches across all leagues are even taking place in mid-weeks.

In the first full set of fixtures post the COVID-19-enforced break, AC Milan, Napoli and Juventus won their respective games with relative ease, while Inter Milan played out an astonishing 3-3 draw against Sassuolo.

Elsewhere, Atlanta edged out Lazio 3-2 to hand Juventus a four-point lead at the top of the Serie A table.

That being said, the action continues this week again, as Lazio will host Fiorentina and a mouth-watering clash between AC Milan and AS Roma to look forward to.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at all the action that awaits us in the next few days in Serie A

Juventus vs Lecce (Prediction: 4-0)

After losing to Napoli in the Coppa Italia final, Juventus had to bring their A-game against Bologna last week, and they certainly did so, winning by a 2-0 margin.

Subsequently, Atalanta’s win over Lazio helped the Old Lady to open up a four-point gap at the top of the table, which could become a seven-point lead by the time Lazio play their fixture this week. That’s because Maurizio Sarri’s men will be favourites to pick up three points against Lecce on Friday night.

The visitors have conceded 15 goals in the previous three domestic matches, which makes it obvious why they are 18th on the standings.

Brescia vs Genoa (Prediction: 1-2)

A battle of two teams struggling to avoid relegation, 20th-placed Brescia will play hosts to 17th-placed Genoa at the Stadio Mario Rigamonti on Saturday evening.

The home side recently played out a 1-1 draw against Fiorentina away, while Genoa were hammered by Parma 1-4. The upcoming Serie A game is of paramount importance to both sides, although Genoa have a more realistic chance of avoiding the drop.

Cagliari vs Torino (Prediction: 1-1)

Two mid-table sides Cagliari and Torino will lock horns in gameweek 28 of the Serie A, at Sardegna Arena. Cagliari narrowly edged out SPAL in mid-week, and are hence, placed 10th on the standings.

Talking about Torino, they too overcame Udinese by a solitary goal and as a consequence, the away side are 13th on the table. Currently, only four points separate these two sides, and we can expect a good game on Saturday night.

Lazio vs Fiorentina (Prediction: 2-0)

Having faltered against Atalanta, Lazio would be kicking themselves, and their next home game against Fiorentina on Saturday offers them a chance to remain within touching distance of Serie A leaders Juventus.

The visitors also dropped points in midweek, having played a stalemate with Brescia, and are 14th on the league table. That being said, for Fiorentina, there’s little more than pride to play for, while Lazio desperately need this win, or their title chase could be over.

Napoli vs SPAL (Prediction: 3-0)

After a routine 2-0 win against Hellas Verona in gameweek 27, Napoli will play hosts to SPAL this week, hoping to rise up from their current sixth place on the standings.

The visitors succumbed to a 0-1 defeat at the hands of Cagliari recently, and few would expect them to trouble Napoli too much on Sunday night. Should be an easy outing for Gennaro Gattuso’s side.

AC Milan vs AS Roma (Prediction: 2-2)

One of the marquee fixtures of gameweek 28 in the Serie A, AC Milan will welcome AS Roma to the Guiseppe Meazza on Sunday.

After defeating Lecce by a margin of 1-4 in midweek, the Rossoneri are up to seventh on the table, although Europe still remains a far cry for them. On the other hand, Roma overcame Sampdoria narrowly, and occupy the fifth place on the standings.

That being said, there’s already a nine-point gap between these two teams, and we can expect a goal fest from this one.

Sampdoria vs Bologna (Prediction: 1-2)

16th-placed Sampdoria come into this game, having endured a narrow defeat lately, and the home game against Bologna couldn’t have come at a better time for Claudio Ranieri’s side, who are in desperate need of points.

Bologna, meanwhile, are 11th on the Serie A standings after their 0-2 reverse at the hands of Juventus; they can expect a slightly easier outing on Sunday night.

Udinese vs Atalanta (Prediction: 1-2)

After defeating second-placed Lazio, Atalanta have sent out a statement to all Serie A teams that they are the team to beat at the moment. In gameweek 28, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men will travel to Dacia Arena to face Udinese.

The home side endured a 0-1 loss against Torino in mid-week, and they face another stern test in Atalanta next. The visitors will be favourites to take home all three points from this game.

Sassuolo vs Hellas Verona (Prediction: 2-1)

The Neroverdi played out an enticing 3-3 draw with Inter Milan lately, although they will be gunning to bag all three points from their next game, at home to Hellas Verona.

The visitors also endured a tough outing against Napoli recently and were beaten 0-2 in the end, as a consequence, Verona are in ninth place on the standings, five points ahead of Sassuolo, who are 12th.

With that said, we expect the home team to nick all three points, given their recent upturn in fortunes.

Parma vs Inter Milan (Prediction: 2-2)

While Parma defeated Genoa 4-1 on the road earlier in this week, Inter Milan could only take away one point from their home game against Sassuolo. Subsequently, Parma remain in the eighth place, level on points with AC Milan, while Inter occupy the third spot in Serie A.

Qualifying for Europe is a distant dream for the hosts, but their opponents on Sunday night can still make it to the Champions League if they manage to hold on to the third spot.

In order to do so, the Nerazzurri will have to overcome Parma in a game which could tilt in any team’s favour.
