Did you know T20 World Cup is going to start from 17th October (less than 60 days)? There can be a lot of excitement about the World Cup among the fans and cricket experts. After the full schedule of the World Cup came out, former India opener Gautam Gambhir has made a big prediction.

Gautam Gambhir, who played a key role in Team India winning the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup, has made his predictions about the semi-finalists of the upcoming T20 World Cup.

In a program of Star Sports, Gambhir said- According to me, the teams of India, New Zealand, England, and West Indies will be successful in making the place in the semi-finals.

The four teams named by Gautam Gambhir are in amazing form at the moment. Team India has won the T20 World Cup in 2007, while West Indies is the defending champion and has won the tournament twice. England was the runner-up in the 2016 T20 World Cup and the team is also the current ODI champion. At the same time, the Kiwi team will also go on the field to play the tournament with the confidence of winning the Test Championship.

For the T20 World Cup, the teams of West Indies and England have been placed in Group 1, while Team India and New Zealand are part of Group 2. India will start its campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan in Dubai on October 24. India vs New Zealand match will be played on 31 October.

Team India is currently busy in the Test series against England. After this, there will be Phase-2 of IPL-2021 and then T20 World Cup. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has held a meeting with skipper Virat Kohli in England to discuss what will be the road map of the Indian team in the World Cup. Board President Sourav Ganguly, Secretary Jay Shah, and Vice President Rajiv Shukla were present in this meeting.

Many players are currently playing in the Test series against England, contending for a chance in the Indian team for the World Cup. Apart from Virat Kohli himself, names like Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, and Jasprit Bumrah are also included in this. The Indian team management is also busy planning how to manage the workload of Shami and Bumrah. Along with this, there is also a discussion on which players should be included as all-rounders in the World Cup.

A BCCI official said that all the details of this meeting cannot be made public. Yes, the roadmap for the T20 World Cup has definitely been discussed. There is no international T20 match in India’s schedule before the World Cup. In such a situation, our players will have to take full advantage of the IPL to be held in the UAE itself.

The Indian team has performed well in ICC tournaments over the years. But, repeatedly losing in the semi-finals or final has been a cause for concern. India has not won any ICC tournament since 2013. India lost in the finals of the 2014 T20 World Cup, the 2015 ODI World Cup, the 2016 T20 World Cup, and the semi-finals of the 2019 ODI World Cup. Apart from this, Team India lost in the finals of the 2017 Champions Trophy and 2021 Test Championship.

India won its last ICC title in 2013 in the form of the Champions Trophy under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Since then India has not won any title. Under the captaincy of Virat, the Indian team has played the finals of the 2017 Champions Trophy, 2019 ODI World Cup, and 2021 Test Championship. But, the Indian team could not become the champion in any of these.
