Both Heung-min Son and Harry Kane have hit the ground running this season, with Tottenham currently being third in the Premier League table, just two points behind leaders Liverpool.

While Son has eight goals and two assists to his name in the Premier League in the present campaign, Kane has found the back of the net six times, in addition to setting up eight more.

As a result, Spurs have plundered in 18 goals in seven Premier League matches this season – the highest in the division.

New deal could see Heung-min Son earn similar to Harry Kane

Harry Kane, Tottenham’s top earner, is thought to be on wages of around £200,000 a week, before bonuses.

And according to Football Insider, Spurs are keen to hand Heung-min Son a salary similar to Kane’s as the South Korean is an integral part of Jose Mourinho’s plans.

Tottenham want to hand Son a new long-term deal before the year ends, with the 28-year-old’s present contract set to run until 2023.

According to the report, the new and improved contract could see Heung-min Son earn £200,000-a-week basic wage, with performance-related bonuses further increasing the salary.

Son has been a vital part of Tottenham’s set-up since joining the Premier League outfit from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2015.

Spurs will next take on Ludogorets in the Europa League tomorrow before facing West Brom in a Premier League clash on Sunday.
